On Saturday it was the Leicester Forest Road Race in Gilmorton, Leicesetershire. The race is part of the East Midlands Road League and is for the first time being held as a National B event.
Held on local roads, I have done this race three times before. Despite having my stag party the weekend before,. I was still keen to ride and get round.
This however proved not to be the case, with just under an hour of racing I got my front wheel caught up with someone else’s skewer, causing one of my spokes to break. Gutted.
This meant I could not finish and was out of the race after two or three laps. Not ideal for home roads however something that unfortunately happens in racing. Hopefully I will be able to finish the race next year!!
