Flamme Rouge Road Race: 7th Place

On Sunday I went down to the Cranfield Circuit to ride in the Flamme Rouge Race. The race was to be 35 laps of the 2.7 mile circuit. The race is always hard around this circuit with very little recovery time anywhere with the climb up to the airfield. Usually the wind is blowing a cross wind on the flat road and it is a head wind on the downhill with the climb straight after.

This race was no different and every time going up the hill it was super hard.  As many riders tried to get a break going nothing was able to stick until the final few laps where only two of four riders away were able to hang on till the finish with a super fast race!

I was able to take 5th in the sprint and 7th overall making for a great result! Spending 22% of the whole race in zone 6 it was another very hard one and ended up being one of the toughest races I have done!
