This weekend it was the Duncan Murray Wines Road Race in Naseby which was organised by the Club. Sadly, the weather forecast for the morning was not a good one with rain scheduled to last most of the race.
Just as we headed into the HQ for the briefing the rain started and as we set off it became quiteย heavy whilst riding to Haselbech and continued to come down until after the secondย lap. Knowing the course and the roads I knew it would be a day for the break which went away early, however with tired legs I was unfortunately unable to get to the front and at times was struggling with the pace of the race.
With the break up the road and a smaller group in between I was able to take 18th across the finish line. I was also able to take the Abbey Trophy as the highest placed WVCC member which was a nice way to end the race.
