Tarmac Tour Of Hertfordshire: Berkhamsted Castle

Today I traveled down to Berkhamsted Castle to contest in a criterium race being held on closed roads. The circuit was around half a mile long and technical with narrow spots making it difficult to move up the group.

The sunshine made it a nice afternoon to be out, and with the average pace for the race over 25mph it made it difficult to stay away. With the finish all about positioning I was unable to get into the right place in the last laps and finished on the line in 22nd place. Despite this however I was pleased as I was feeling a little better. I also enjoyed myself and found it nice to be on a closed circuit.
